From the 2006 Annual Report
Prairie du Chien Downtown Revitalization’s objectives are
well on their way to being accomplished. It is through
financial commitments and individuals, who dedicate time
and energy, that our plan of work is on the road to
success. Throughout 2006 PDRI has worked hard to bring
people, energy and enthusiasm to our downtown district
through the work our four committees.
The following represents the
work of each of those committees.
Design
- Provided facade
improvement and sign grants to three downtown businesses
- Collaborated with the
City of Prairie du Chien to develop and fund the
Streetscape Plan
- Worked with the city’s
Design and Preservation Commission to ensure
improvements meet historic guidelines
- Selected the
organization’s logo
- Presented the Kappel
Block history to the community
Economic
Restructuring
- Implementation of the
Market Analysis project through business survey
- Developed parameters for
Revolving Loan Fun with the city
- Implementation of Loan
Pool Project
- Provided business
assistance to potential new businesses through resources
of the State Main Street Program
Organization
- Planned and hosted first
annual meeting
- Developed awards and
recognized volunteer efforts
- Raised $1,200 through
